The feeling of wanting to be accepted by friends or the desire to fit in and feel socially compatible with friends is not out of place. Most people feel and think this way sometimes, especially in the teen and young adult years to gain acceptance, or be respected.
As a Christian, you serve God not men or friends
Peer influence, often referred to as peer pressure can be positive. You might be influenced to become more interactive or articulate as you get more involved in church, school and the community. At times, it can be negative and it’s tough to deal with.
As a young Christian, you will hear friends teasing, “C'mon, it's just one beer." "Seriously, your parents will never find out about one joint." "Why don't you cuss like everyone else?" Your ability to overcome such challenges will prove your strength as a Child of God. Stay focused and do not be distracted by these influences.

Don’t follow the crowd, you are special
It’s sad that “so-called” friends tempt you with sins like underage drinking, sex, vandalism, stealing, drugs or bullying. “My son, if sinners try to lead you into sin, do not go with them.” You are special and part of a chosen generation (1 Peter 2:9).
Live to please God and not people
As a Christian, you serve God not men or friends. You have been saved by the death of Jesus Christ. We are meant to look more like Jesus and not like our friends. This way, we’ll stand out and when people look at us, they’ll be able to see God’s greatness (Galatians 1:10).
Develop a strong mindset
Have a mindset of self-discipline and strength so that you can stay stronger in the faith, no matter what may come your way. When you’re tempted to give into peer pressure, remember Jesus knows how you feel and with His help, you can resist any pressure. Also reach out to your parents, siblings, church leaders, godfathers, spiritual fathers and anyone who is spiritually matured. These are priceless resources you can access for solutions or help
